Celebrating Women’s History Month: Reflections from MissionWired’s Leadership Team
At MissionWired, we’re dedicated to supporting our partners’ missions to drive positive change in their communities across the country and around the world. We do it by bringing together a team of fundraising professionals with deep expertise, collectively spanning content and creative, data science, product development and analytics, and every facet of cross-channel fundraising strategy.
This Women’s History Month, we’re reflecting on the leadership of women in the workplace in 2025. According to McKinsey & Company, women today make up only 29% of C-suite positions. What’s more, women made up only 25% of those serving in the U.S. Senate and 28.5% of those in the U.S. House in 2023. Like the researchers completing these studies, we agree that there’s a great deal of work to be done to continue uplifting female-identifying and diverse voices in leadership. And as Women’s History Month comes to a close, we’d like to take some time today to celebrate and highlight the women who make up MissionWired’s leadership team.
Founded 18 years ago by Anne Lewis, MissionWired continues on today as a woman-led business under the leadership of CEO Kate Kline. Across our executive team alone, 63% of positions are currently held by women, and nearly all of our departments have female-identifying leadership. In our work with our political clients, MissionWired has partnered with women candidates for office every cycle to date.
In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re excited to share reflections from some of MissionWired’s executive and team leadership on their careers and what they value about MissionWired:
Executive Leadership

CEO
I am proud to lead a team of problem-solvers who listen to what our clients need and leverage our resources and agility to take those challenges on as our own. It's the origin story of our best innovations, and it is where we can make the biggest impact, at the intersections of the causes we care about.

President of Agency
I’m endlessly inspired by the teams I get to lead – people who are as sharp and innovative as they are kind and collaborative. Helping people grow in ways that align with who they are, not just what they do, is one of the greatest privileges of leadership. Doing it in service of missions that fight injustice and fuel change across the country and the world? That’s the dream.

Chief Financial Officer
Joining the MissionWired team in the CFO role is so exciting for me. I started my work experience out of college at Catalyst, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing women in business. Having the opportunity to join this team, where the business was founded by a woman, is led by a female CEO and owned by a female-founded PE fund is deeply inspiring and feels like I've come full circle on my own original, personal mission in my career. I look forward to contributing to an already stellar organization!

Principal and Senior Vice President
It's really a dream come true to do this work. I get to support campaigns at the highest-levels and nonprofits whose missions bring hope to the world. There are too many moments to count, from a transformative presidential campaign that changed everything in about 96 hours to fundraising for women's rights to make their own health decisions. As much as I lead, it's really our clients who do. I'm fortunate to steward their missions and work alongside the most incredible, talented people in the process.

Chief People Officer
Our people, their passion and their talents are what drive MissionWired's success and that of our clients. Throughout my career, I am proud to have influenced and added to folks' professional development, especially the many women whom I have been able to work with and who have gone on to have interesting and varied careers. It's a real treat that being part of people's professional journeys is not just an option but a requirement of my role!

Principal and Senior Vice President
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible organizations like the Democratic National Committee, the Biden Victory Fund, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, AARP, and many others, helping them connect with their audiences in meaningful ways. Beyond the numbers and production details, what I’m most proud of is the network of smart, creative, and passionate people I’ve met along the way. This industry is constantly evolving, and I’ve embraced the challenges, adapted to new technologies, and shared my knowledge through speaking engagements at industry conferences. Being recognized with awards like DMAW Volunteer of the Year and the Brava SmartCEO Award has been an honor, but the real reward is knowing that my work has made a difference. Outside of my career, I love spending time with my husband, Dan, our daughters, Sarah and Madi, and, of course, my grandkids. Whether it’s watching D.C. sports, cooking, relaxing at the beach, or boating, I cherish the moments with family just as much as I do the work I’m so passionate about.
Team Leadership

Design
Leading didn’t feel easy for me at first, but my proudest moments at MissionWired have been learning to do just that. Creating processes that fortify collaboration, mentoring and uplifting my team, and streamlining systems to maximize time for creative thinking come to mind when I reflect on my successes here.

Accounts, Political
Throughout my career, I’ve been extremely fortunate and proud to collaborate and learn from many talented Democratic women political operatives and elected officials. I have had the great honor to work for Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto for nearly a decade since her first Senate race in the 2016 cycle. Working to ensure women leaders are at the decision-making table has always been a key guiding principle of mine – from my time leading the digital department at the DSCC in both the 2020 and 2022 cycles working for a number of women Senate candidates to most recently working to help reelect Sen. Jacky Rosen in the 2024 cycle at MissionWired.

Creative and Business Development
In seeing this round-up of women leadership here at MissionWired, I notice such a variety of top-tier talent: innovators, mentors, problem-solvers. I particularly see people who lead with vision, with compassion, with precision, and with a boldness and comfort that I believe stems from our very earliest origins as being women-led and woman-founded. A personal and professional highlight for me will always be passing the opportunities and guidance I’ve received throughout my career here onto others.

Agency Technical Services
I feel so grateful and lucky to get to work with so many talented women across the company. In my role, I support our digital production team and help our partners handle tricky technology challenges. We’re able to help them keep their focus on their world-changing missions – from electing more women and people of color to all levels of government to making our education system more equitable.

Marketing
I’m continuously inspired by my passionate and caring colleagues who work so hard for nonprofits and campaigns that are changing the world. I’m proud that I get to share our company’s story with the industry and reaffirm our commitment to progressive causes. And I’ve been so grateful for all of the female-identifying mentors at MissionWired who I’ve been so proud to learn from.

Accounts, Nonprofit
What I’m most proud of is the work that we do to help elevate and expand the missions of so many critical nonprofit organizations, especially right now when so many organizations are fighting to be able to continue their work.

Data Science
I love supporting my team, helping bring their ideas to life, and bridging connections across departments to drive collaboration and innovation.

Technology and Engineering
I’m proud of having the opportunity to empower others to grow and develop leadership skills. Several people on my team have moved from individual contributors to leadership roles, and helping to build up their confidence and support them in that transition is my favorite part of my job.

Content
One of my favorite things about working at MissionWired is the chance to tell the stories of incredible women who are blazing trails and making a real, meaningful difference – whether they’re running for office or leading a world-changing nonprofit. It’s a really special honor to support their work, and it makes my job all the more rewarding.

Accounts
One of the most rewarding parts of my time at MissionWired has been supporting women candidates for governor and U.S. Senate – including several who won and made history as the first woman elected to that office in their state! This work is close to my heart, and I’m proud of the impact these women have made and will continue to make.

Business Development
Working at a women-founded company, with so many incredible women in leadership roles, has been very impactful for me. At every step in my career at MissionWired, I’ve had female mentors to learn from, and it’s always been clear to me that there’s no ceiling to what I can achieve here. I’m glad to now continue that work as a mentor to women beginning their careers here.
