I am always searching for ways to ensure that data science is used in pursuit of equity.

At MissionWired, I specialize in developing rigorous, cutting-edge machine learning models that drive our clients’ digital campaigns. I help leverage the power of clients’ data to propel unprecedented fundraising growth. As a data scientist, I usually spend my day experimenting with various ideas, brainstorming with my colleagues, connecting with our other product teams to make sure our models are doing what our clients want, and more. It’s a really rewarding mix of deep technical work and creative conversations with stakeholders.

I care deeply about expanding the reach of progressive organizations beyond their usual donor base by attempting to solve a classic problem in machine learning: that past biases and blindspots are learned and passed on. Having completed a Ph.D. in applied math, I’m finding it so rewarding to draw connections between my dissertation on understanding patterns in highly dimensional data and my work in the progressive data space.
